What exactly is a credit?
Credits meter work per source-minute, computed against the probe of your input before anything runs. You see the exact cost of a recipe up front — resolution and duration set the price, not the codec.
What happens when a job fails?
The hold is released. A crashed encode, a bad source or a cancelled run all return your purchased credits automatically — no ticket needed. Plan allowance is the exception: it is bound to its 8-hour window, so an allowance-funded run is spent for that period and the next window refills as usual.
Do credits expire?
Plan credits refresh on an 8-hour window. Pay-as-you-go credits never expire — they sit in your account until you spend them, plan or no plan.
How long do my files stay around?
Each plan sets a workspace TTL — 7 days on Free up to 60 days on Studio. Outputs are yours to pull anytime within the window, with no egress fees.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free tier gives you 100 credits per 8 hours, enough to run real jobs. Add a card only when you want more throughput.
